Bookcases

This weekend we built our bookcases for the study and finally unpacked all of our boxes of books. We still have two closets' worth of books at my parents' house, but I don't want to think about that right now. At some point, we'll have to get serious about keeping only the books that have meaning to us and purging the rest, and then getting everything else from that point on either on a Kindle or from the library.

I also wanted to show you Ezra's reading chair. The bookcases are not that tall; the chair is just small. :)

Things That Make Ezra Laugh

Here are the things that consistently make Ezra smile or laugh:

  • Fake sneezes ("Aaaa-choooo!")
  • "If You're Happy and You Know It" song (complete with clapping his hands, stomping his feet, and clucking)
  • "The Three Bears" Korean song
  • The words "Mama" and "Umma"
  • "Talking" with him (making "eeeh" and "ung" sounds in response to his)
  • Curling both lips in and saying, "Hello, my name is Ezra. I have no teeth."
  • Kissy noises
And his all-time favorite:
  • Farting noises

Review & Reboot

I'm rebooting this blog to update friends and family. But first, a small review of 2010:

  • In March, we said good-bye to my grandfather.
  • In May, we celebrated Jessica's and the Eliot Class of 2010's graduations from college and Anna and Lino's retirement as House Masters.
  • In September, we welcomed Ezra into the world.
  • In November, we bought our first home.
It was an eventful year. We wish you and yours many happy moments in 2011.
